Amnesia Fortnight is a two week game jam during which anyone at Double Fine can pitch an idea and, if it’s selected, lead a team to turn it from concept to working prototype. This documentary series is the ultimate record of that event, as project leads succeed or fail to bring their games to life.

"I don't think we are honing in on some perfect formula. I think every time we kind of want something different out of it, and it evolves and it flips around and changes into different things."
"I'm not confident the game is going to work. I hope it's going to work, I think we can make it work, but it could all go wrong. And that's fine."
"Why is it really quiet? Is it because the cameras are here? Or is it because we are looking at a broken game?"
"When I get home I'm like: 'Oh my god, I gotta do this differently', or 'I am not thinking about this enough'. But when I get in here it's fine."
"I came in today feeling pretty rested. And now I don't feel that way at all."
"You know, there is not a lot of biodiversity, so I gotta figure out a way to sort of monkey with that."
"Any time that I am not actively hitting the keyboard I am wasting time."
"That is awkward... It's functional, and right now that's probably the most important part."
"Zak wants the pickle to be floppy, so I'm making a floppy pickle."
"Maybe I should feel embarrassed. You guys have some pretty damaging footage of me now."
"We're kinda all riding our cowboy programming. Yeah, it's just crazy."
"Is everyone emotionally prepared to go live?"

"The only way they'd become project lead was if I died, and I didn't want to die or be killed. So we created Amnesia Fortnight."
"We need a cuss jar, but it's a pun jar."
"Have you ever had any... body problems?"
"Ultimately, the game is a critique of what I think is a bad way of governing."
"I pitched it to him and he was like, 'It's fine, why are you guys freaking out?'"
"That was Dvořák. I've got Rimsky-Korsakov, Tchaikovsky. I'm hoping to do a Mussorgsky piece but he's kinda harder to find."
"Here's the twist: you see her getting smashed by the credits. They come scrolling down on her head. That's what killed her!"
"Hey, I'm hairy. No one wants to be my friend for some reason."
"My AF pitch next year? Fences: The Game."
"You can tell the pieces are starting to fit. And I had forgotten what it was going to be for a little bit there."
"Yeah that sounded fun. I heard it from over here."
"I'm glad you're all thankful for me pushing my work off onto you to figure out what games we're going to make."

"We don't know what's going to happen. We might get a bunch of crap, or we might a bunch of games and they all get made."
"We basically shaved Elmo and we're putting power gloves on him."
"What do I have? Thirteen, fourteen people? It seems like a gang, man."
"Yeah, that's fantastic. That's giving me shivers."
"I'm just going to carve a hole in the wall that's some crazy, snaky path that people probably won't find."
"We need a world, you know? We need a more fleshed-out world for those systems to live in."
"He just keeps making hamburgers, I don't know."
"I have no idea what he's doing! He's just going crazy. He's boogying down on the dance floor."
"That's me! Secretly kicking all the butts."
"Programmers know what they're doing way more than I do. I'm like a babe in the woods."
"Kinda weird, sorta broken, but hopefully in ten hours or so it'll be perfect and wonderful and bug-free."
"Let's call it a wrap you guys. Let's just put a fork in this thing and call it done... for now."
