Elma arrives in Akranes after a harrowing experience in Reykjavík. On her first night, she wakes up to noise and discovers her neighbor dead. Elma and her colleague Sævar find out that a mysterious woman had visited the man before he died.
Elma and Sævar examine the crime scene and talk to the husband of Elísabet, who initially seems unaware of her movements. They look into the case of Sara Hendriksdóttir and explore the connection between Elísabet and Sara. Hörður wants to keep the investigation into Sara on the low.
Elma and Sævar wonder who might have been threatening Elísabet. Hendrik pressures the police to learn if anything new has come up in his daughter's case. Elma decides to attend a party at Sara's under the guise of the investigation.
Elma and Sævar talk to Magnea to ask why she lied about Elísabet visiting her. Hörður admits that he hasn't been telling the whole truth. Elma and Sævar plan to speak with Elísabet's former classmate but he's nowhere to be found.
Child protection services talk to Lína. Andrés wakes up in the hospital after surgery, and Elma and Sævar interrogate him. Hörður blames himself for what happened to Andrés and tries to get Hendrik to come down to the station with him.
