The report series “Bei mir daheim” shows Austrians who have created very special opportunities for retreat at home. How is it particularly comfortable to live within your own four walls over the course of the year? Sometimes our own creations are shown here, which cannot be surpassed in terms of exclusivity and extravagance.

Austrians value their home as a place of retreat, a refuge and a space of security in a globalized world, an increasingly hectic and complex everyday life characterized by digitalization. It is as if our personal sphere of life is developing into the antithesis of the digital world that surrounds us, with its constant accessibility. The home with beautiful, simple, clear things that convey value and durability offers a way out and a place to retreat.
A table made from a 2,000-year-old bog oak, a ceramics workshop in the middle of the Montafon mountains or a skater who makes unique pieces from old boards. How can you preserve the original and create something new at the same time? In “At home with me” – people open the door to their home to make their living dreams come true with craftsmen, architects and designers.
