Jilted(1912)

Overview

The film plays on the classic romantic tropes of storybooks versus reality. The plot follows the age-old tale of a beautiful heroine and a gallant hero who find themselves marooned on a desert island after their ship drifts away. While traditional storybooks dictate that a couple stranded in such a romantic predicament always falls in love and gets married, the film explores the humorous, realistic, and less-than-ideal complications that arise when this trope is put to the test in "real life"
